In the accessible, old garden of the Captain’s Residence, stands the renovated Likhús (Hylper translation for small house). When the captain was away at sea, his wife and children would stay in this little house. Nowadays, this unique, detached small house, situated on the banks of the town-canal, is perfectly suitable for an unforgettable romantic night away. Every creature comfort, surrounded by history!
The accommodation consists of three areas, situated on different floors, as per tradition. Each chamber has its own, unique charm. Via a narrow staircase, you reach the cosy, traditional Hindelooper bedroom, combining an atmosphere of the past with all the comforts of today. The romantic bed is decorated with stunning fabrics of Hindelooper tradition and history. On the walls, original Hindelooper works of art are on display.
The next staircase leads up to the spacious bathroom with an authentic, roll-top bath. Whilst you lie back and relax, you can enjoy gazing at the romantically decorated, ceiling of stars. From the ideally-situated window, you have a breath-taking view of the IJsselmeer. In the kitchen, you can enjoy a delicious breakfast whilst sitting at a Hindelooper table. On good-weather days, you can even escape to the garden, and sit under the old pear tree.
The Likhús is equipped with a bathtub (not a shower), a kitchen unit with a Nespresso coffee maker, a kettle, breakfast utensils, a fridge and a microwave.
The Likhús is a charming, authentic small house. Bursting with atmosphere and nostalgia, but not completely equipped with modern means of access: i.e. no lift, just narrow, steep staircases.
